IPS has achieved a remarkable milestone for a small business in the infrastructure sector under a first-of-its-kind Chartered engineer program.
IPS’ strong advocacy for the prestigious Chartered credential has seen 85 per cent of our eligible workforce now holding the Chartered status with others in the process of completing their credentials.
As the highest available technical credential for an engineer, Chartered status is recognised both in Australia and internationally as a measure of excellence that reflects years of devotion to the profession.
IPS has achieved a remarkable milestone for a small consultancy in Australia’s infrastructure sector following our unique credentialing partnership with Engineers Australia (EA) launched in 2023.
Currently nine IPS engineers have their CPEng accreditation, with several attending a recent Chartered recognition event in Brisbane addressed by IPS Director and Founder Sascha Kurz.
Sascha said IPS sponsored its eligible team members to gain a Chartered qualification, which opened doors to career progression and leadership opportunities, and provided worthy recognition of their outstanding contributions to the engineering sector.
“Previously a workforce credentialing program was more commonly accessible through larger firms, but we’ve taken a deliberate decision to help as many IPS team members as possible to achieve the Chartered status,” she said.
“There is also an increasing drive from clients for project delivery teams to have Chartered status, which is something we wholeheartedly support.
“Through my role as Queensland Chair of the EA College of Leadership & Management, we work with organisations and institutions to improve, broaden and strengthen opportunities for accreditation of engineering leaders and managers.”
Engineers Australia General Manager Queensland, Stacey Rawlings, is also a big advocate of the Chartered credential and attended the recent Brisbane recognition event.
Stacey said IPS had been highly proactive in embracing the Chartered credential and had successfully put many team members through the program in a short period of time.
“Sascha is a really great advocate for Engineers Australia and the Chartered credential, which is conducive to creating more uplift for the Chartered status across the whole industry,” she said.
“Having senior business leaders like Sascha openly supportive of the program helps to bring others along on the journey.”
